About Sindelar Golf
Sindelar Golf was formed so Joe Sindelar's creative and effective golf learning aids could be manufacturered and made available to golfers everywhere. Joe became hooked on the game of golf in his mid-twenties when he went out to play with his buddies and shot a first-ever nine-hole score of 50. He worked on his own game and became a self-taught scratch player. Joe's son, Joey, showed a great deal of potential for the game at the age of six and Joe's focus changed to teaching golf - not only to Joey but to others as well. He became a student of the game by reading about the golf swing and practicing various swing techniques himself. There are those who say that he was lucky when his student (Joey) became successful at every level including the PGA TOUR. But there are dozens of golfers who play at all levels who will testify to the positive results they have experienced within their golf games because of having worked with Joe Sindelar.
Joe's first product was the Putting Tracker which he invented to help Joey with his short putts. The Tracker is still used for practice by professional golfers on the PGA and the LPGA Tours as well as by golfing professionals who use the Tracker to teach the pendullum putting stroke.
Then in 1998, Kris Reuland contacted Joe Sindelar and asked for his help in creating a golf learning system for an in-school program she had started the year before. Kris was frustrated that there was nothing in the marketplace suitable for a physical education golf unit to be taught by teachers who were not golf professionals. Kris knew that in addition to some basic golf skills, the students would need to learn golf safety and etiquette and also vocabulary and rules. Joe was the answer to her prayers and it wasn’t long before Joe had invented what has come to be known as the Stick to Golf Scholastic Learning System.
Soon frustrated with building equipment in his garage and recognizing that this "stuff" was good, Joe began to think about making Stick to Golf available for schools everywhere. In 2000, Joe and Kris formed a business partnership to manufacture and market Stick to Golf. During that same time period, Joe was also creating the Sindelar Learning Center stations for two of the facilities of The First Tee, Corning. Now a viable business, Sindelar Golf, Inc. is proud to be making a significant impact on the game of golf.
The Sindelar Golf Team
Joe Sindelar
Joe is the father and golf instructor of Joey Sindelar, PGA Tour Player. Joe is an innovative teacher who has developed many golf learning aids to assist Joey and other professional golfers, many of whom still use Joe’s Tracker Putting Aid. Joe used his extensive knowledge and creativity to put together the golf equipment and learning aids that make it possible for golf to be facilitated by physical education teachers with an entire class of students. The evolution of the in-school golf program has led to the development of the Sindelar Golf Learning Systems including Stick to Golf® and the Sindelar Learning Centers with patented learning stations and a scoring system that redefines how golf is learned and practiced. His latest patent pending invention, the Teeny Green, is an amazingly effective golf learning aid for putting. Joe is always thinking up new ways to deliver his golf learning philosophies. In addition to being president of Sindelar Golf, Joe is working with his grandchildren, one of whom is playing at the college level and another at the number one position on his high school golf team.
Kris Reuland
Kris started playing golf at the age of eleven when her parents took her along to the golf course, and she has been playing golf ever since. She is as educator who taught mathematics and developed interdisciplinary, applied curriculum projects. In 1997, she used golf as a theme for one of her projects and that led to her work with Joe Sindelar. Kris wrote the curriculum for Stick to Golf that includes academic and life skills components. Kris and Joe formed their business partnership in 2000 when it became apparent that what had been created had potential for schools everywhere. In 2001, she retired from teaching to devote more time to junior golf. Kris also works with the LPGA Corning Classic as Executive Director of The First Tee, Corning which has three facilities and the Stick to Golf School Golf Program at 44 regional schools. While Joe knows golf and how to teach it, Kris understands teaching in general and brings a degree of educational credibility to the company and its products.
Daniel Kelley
Dan brought his considerable business management skills to the Sindelar Golf team in the spring of 2001. Dan is an avid golfer who, like many others, didn’t discover the joys of the game until he was an adult. Dan has had a diverse career in sales and marketing, including ten years in sales management and training in the jewelry industry. Weary of life on the road, and a desire to be an entrepreneur, Dan put his sales and marketing talents to work as an Invisible Fence® Dealer. He has spent over 18 years keeping pets safe at home. His dealership has repeatedly been recognized for outstanding sales and service performance. In 2001 when looking for compatible ways to expand his business interests, Dan researched the backyard putting green industry. Upon checking with Joey and then with Joe, he discovered something even more interesting than backyard putting greens. The Sindelar Golf Learning Systems intrigued him so much that he has served as a consultant to Sindelar Golf ever since.
